SWEET — Fine Art Print
A Meditation on Survival, Choice, and Joy
SWEET is a fine art print inspired by an ancient Zen parable:
A monk, fleeing a tiger, reaches the edge of a cliff. With danger behind him and uncertainty below, he clings to a vine—and notices a strawberry. In that moment, he eats it. Fully. Sweetly. Present.
In this reimagining, artist Sugar Taylor transforms the parable into a modern, deeply personal reflection on Black youth, resilience, and the impossible choices faced in marginalized communities.
Here, the tiger becomes poverty, violence, addiction, and systemic pressure.
The cliff becomes escape—risk, rebellion, or the unknown.
And the strawberry becomes joy. Creativity. Love. Art. Hope.
It represents the small, radiant moments of sweetness we find even while navigating survival.
Rather than portraying chaos, SWEET centers dignity, presence, and quiet power. The subject is not defeated. They are awake. They are choosing to taste life—despite everything.
This piece is a reminder that beauty and meaning are not reserved for “after things get better.”
They exist now. In breath. In art. In courage. In staying human.
Available in 12 x 24 " or 24 x 44" on Fine Art Giclee Paper with a 1/2 white edge.
